Sending Scanned Data as E-Mail from Computer

Check the following before adding scanned data to an e-mail:

The MP Drivers have been mounted. (For Windows)

  • Update MP Drivers with the Setup CD-ROM or from the Canon website if they are not already installed.

The scanner driver has been set up. (Macintosh)

  • Download the scanner driver from the Canon website if it isn’t already available.

The printer is correctly linked to a device.

  • Make sure the printer is properly connected to the device.
  • While the printer is running or the machine is in sleep or standby mode, do not plug in or unplug the USB or LAN cable.
  • If you’re scanning over a network, make sure you’ve listed all of the required parameters.
    • For Windows users:

    • For Macintosh:
      • Settings for Network Scan

Canon IJ Scan Utility specifies the mail program and the file name.

  • In Canon IJ Scan Utility, you can define the destination and file name.
  • For more information on Canon IJ Scan Utility settings, go to:
    • For Windows users:

    • For Macintosh:
      • Dialog for Configuration

Starting Canon IJ Scan Utility on Mac OS X 10.11 is needed to send scanned data to your device.

To send the scanned data as an e-mail from the phone, follow the steps below.

1.Ensure that the printer is switched on.

2.Scan by swiping up from the HOME screen.

3.  Attach to E-mail.

4.E-mail from PC.Tap the computer to forward scanned data.

5.Tap Local (USB) for a USB-connected computer or tap the computer to forward the scanned data for a network-connected computer.

The Scan standby screen is displayed.

6.Specify settings as necessary.

A.Select the document form with a tap.

Document Scans the original as a document data on the platen glass or in the ADF, using the settings defined in Scan settings.
Scan settings scan the original on the platen glass as photo info.

B.To bring up the Scan settings screen, tap it.

C.To save the current scan settings as a custom setting, tap the button.

D. To pick the destination, tap to bring up the screen.

7.Place the original document on a platen glass or in an automatic document feeder (ADF).

8.To scan in color, press the Color button; to scan in black and white, press the Black button.

NOTE

A message appears on the touch screen if the original is not properly loaded.

Depending on the scan settings, place the original on the platen glass or in the ADF.

  • If you use the ADF to load the original:

The printer begins scanning, and the scanned information is sent to the machine and attached to an e-mail.

  • If you place the original on the platen glass, it will look like this:
    • When you choose JPEG as the scan format on the scan settings pad, the printer begins scanning, and the scanned data is sent to the device and attached to an e-mail.
    • After you choose PDF or Compact PDF as the scan format on the scan setting pad, a confirmation screen appears, asking if you want to continue scanning.

If you want to keep scanning, place the original on top of the platen glass and begin scanning.

Tap End if you don’t want to continue scanning.

The machine receives the scanned information.

According to the settings in Canon IJ Scan Utility, scanned data is forwarded to the device and attached to an e-mail.

Refer to the mail software’s instruction manual for settings and how to deliver an e-mail.

After scanning is complete, remove the original from the platen glass or the document output slot.

If program selection screen appears (Windows):

After pressing the Color or Black buttons, the program selection screen can appear. In this case, click OK after selecting Canon IJ Scan Utility.
