CenturyLink Router Login: How to Access the Router GUI

How to log into your Century router

STEP 1: Connect to your network via WiFi, or by using the network cable

Why is this important to know? Well, you won’t be able to login to your Century link router using a device that is not connected to the network. Only devices that are connected to the network can log in to the router. Other devices that are not connected can’t access the router. You can either use a wireless connection to connect if you know your network name and password or, preferably, connect the device via a network cable.

STEP 2: Start your favorite browser

You can access the CenturyLink router settings via a web browser. When we do that, we are not connecting to a website but to the router’s Web GUI and therefore we don’t need to be connected to the internet.

STEP 3: Type the default CenturyLink router IP in the browser’s URL bar

Enter the default CenturyLink IP http://192.168.0.1 in the browser’s URL bar.

STEP 4 – Enter your CenturyLink router username and password

You can use these login details if you haven’t changed them before. If they have been changed, you can use the new login details to log into CenturyLink router.

NOTE:The password and username for the router are not the SSID/Key/Passphrase. Pay attention. The Admin username, and the password are required.

STEP 5: Click on the Apply button

Once you have clicked the ApplyYou should now see the CenturyLink router Web GUI. It is simple to locate the settings you want to modify, such as the WiFi name or password.

How to change CenturyLink router login password

The Admin password is used to block anyone from accessing router settings. Most people don’t bother changing it but it is generally a good security measure to change it into something more memorable.

After you log in to the router click the Advanced setup button.

Go to the left-hand menu. SecurityClick here Administrator Password.

  1. Check the Enable box.
  2. Enter your new administrator username. It is important to verify that you have correctly entered the password and username.
  3. To save the changes, click on the Apply button

You should remember to change the Admin password when you do so. If you have forgotten your custom password, you can reset the router to factory settings to gain access to CenturyLink settings.

Important notes:

  • It is important to enter the default IP correctly. Often typing the letter “O” instead of the number zero “0” will result in an error.
  • Always type the default IP in the browser’ s URL bar (Address bar). Typing the IP in Google search won’t trigger the CenturyLink login page to open.
  • You must be careful when entering the Admin password.
