Accessing Your UMass Lowell Student Email and SIS Student Record

A Student Email Account is created automatically for you when you register for courses at UMass Lowell. Please allow up to 1-2 business days of processing.

This email address will receive all official University communications. These messages include information about class cancellations, course schedules, grade reports, and billing notifications, as well as important UMass Lowell information.

This is how your UMass Lowell Student Email account looks like: YourFirstName_YourLastName@student.uml.edu

You will need to change the default email password before you can use your UMass Lowell student account email. You will need your UMass Lowell student ID# to do this. Look it up)

Your default student email password isRiverhawk12345678Where?The last eight digits of your UMass Lowell student ID#. Once you have your Student ID#, it is easy to access the following: Change your default email password. Remember to enter your default student email password before entering your eight-digit Student ID number.

ACCESS YOUR STUDENT E-MAIL

After you have changed your default email password, visit https://www.outlook.com/student.uml.edu to access your UMass Lowell student email. Click the link to log in using LiveMail. Your full UML Student email account (including @student.uml.edu), will be used as your Windows Live ID. You will also need to enter your student email password, where it asks you for a Password.

VIEW YOUR STUDENT RECORDS AT HTTPS://WWW.UML.EDU/ENROLLMENT/SIS/

Once you have your UML Student Email Address and your Student Email Account Password, you will use these to log into your SIS Student Records at https://www.uml.edu/enrollment/sis/ – Select the ‘Student Self-Service Login’ button, then enter your full Student Email Address (including the @student.uml.edu) as the ‘Campus User ID’, and your Student Email Account Password as the ‘Password’. Next, select “Lowell” from the Campus popup menu and click the ‘Login’ button to continue.
This Student Self-Service Login allows you to sign up for future classes, add or drop courses, get study lists (or class schedules), view and print grades, and review your account billing information.

TIP: Save your Student Email Address, Email Password, and UML Student ID# somewhere safe. You will be able to refer to them in the future.

ONLINE COURSE ACCESS AT HTTPS://UML.UMASSONLINE.NET

Students enrolled in online or blended courses will use their UMass Lowell email address as their username and email password to log into their online or blended courses at https://uml.umassonline.net/

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION AND NOTIFICATION

We have created a process for students to verify their Emergency Contact Information and provide it regularly as a response to increasing security concerns on University campuses across the country. These details will be used to contact the designated people in an emergency that may arise on campus. You will see an entry in “Your Helds Summary” indicating Emergency contact verification when you log into SIS this semester. This “Hold” will prevent all Registration/Add/Drop/Swap a Class activity until you take action to verify your Emergency Contact Information. This will allow you to remove the hold by using SIS. Click on the hold and follow the instructions. This information should be verified by you. before you will need to register for classes or use the Add/Drop/Swap a class functionality in SIS.
