How to Connect Philips TV to Wi-Fi Without Remote? (Alternative Options)

Philips is synonymous for high-quality consumer electronics. Philips has been producing lighting and electronic products for over 100 years. While Philips TVs are now more focused on health technology than ever before, you can still own one. If you were to lose your remote control, how would you connect it with Philips? Use Physical Buttons

  1. You can simultaneously press the Volume up/Volume down buttons (or the Menu button if you have one).
  2. With the P+/P- buttons, you can navigate to the TV Menu. 
  3. Use the Volume up or down buttons to navigate further. 
  4. You will find Wi-Fi settings under Network Settings. Connect to your Wi-Fi network by searching for it. You will need to use the CH+ and CH+ buttons to enter your password. 
  5. To return to the Main Menu, press the Volume Up and Down buttons together.
  6. To exit the menu, press the Volume buttons again simultaneously. It’s like the ‘Back’ button. 

Wired Keyboard/Mouse Option

You can connect a USB keyboard and mouse to any of the USB ports on your Philips TVs to make it wireless. These are the steps to get you there:

  1. Attach the keyboard/mouse to the TV using a USB cable and plug it in the Philips TV’s USB port.
  2. Use your keyboard and mouse to navigate Menu. 
  3. Go to Settings > Network > Connect to Network.
  4. Click on your network’s SSID and type in the password.
  5. In a matter of seconds, your Philips TV will be connected to your Wi-Fi. You can control your TV using the keyboard/mouse. 

Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Having a wireless keyboard and mouse makes everything so much easier. If a regular wireless keyboard is unavailable, a cheap tiny keyboard will work. Mini keyboards with Bluetooth dongles can be plugged into the TV’s USB port. Once you’re connected, repeat the steps outlined above.

Ethernet Cable

You can also use the keyboard/mouse if there’s no mouse or keyboard around. Ethernet cable.   1. Install the Philips TV Remote app on your smartphone.
  2. Choose IR Blaster over Wi-Fi
  3. Press the Power button to turn on your Philips TV.
  4. You can use your phone just like you would a TV remote with the built-in infrared IR blaster.
  5. An additional IR blaster can be purchased if your phone doesn’t have an integrated IR blaster. 

Note:This assumes that your smartphone comes with an IR blaster. However, not all smartphones are equipped with this feature.
