How to Remove Devices From CenturyLink Router?

This post will show you how to delete devices from CenturyLink routers using two different methods, giving you complete control.

It’s quite simple. You don’t need to be a network technician or have any technical knowledge. You only need a little knowledge and some time to make your network a success.

Depending on the model of your CenturyLink router, you have two options for removing it. The first is to use a Secure Wi-Fi toolkit, and the second is to go into the router’s management panel manually.

How to remove devices from CenturyLink router with secure Wi-Fi

Secure Wi-Fi can be accessed by signing into your CenturyLink account, or using the My CenturyLink app from a mobile phone.

The toolkit can only be used for the purpose of assisting the C1100A, C3000A and C3000Z. routers. Move on to the next section if you are using a different model.

You can access the Secure Wi-Fi Tools by signing in to your CenturyLink account via the website or the My CenturyLink app. Download the app for Android or Apple devices from their respective app shops.

After logging in, you can access the Internet service option at My products.

To see a complete list of connected devices, click on the link Connected Devices.

If you don’t recognize or want to manage any of the devices on the list, click on it to see management options.

How to Disconnect Devices from Other CenturyLink Routers

This method works with any router, no matter if it is CenturyLink or a model from a third-party.

You’ll need a device connected to the router for this to work. You can use your mobile phone to connect to the router over Wi-Fi. However, it is faster and easier to use a laptop or computer connected via Ethernet cable.

Open Google Chrome or any other internet browser and enter the router’s IP address.

CenturyLink routers have a default administrator username of (blank) and a password of 1234.

Third-party routers could have different default IPs, usernames and passwords. However, the defaults are printed on the router’s back, or included in the manuals.

After logging in to the control panel you will find the MAC authorization option or the MAC filtering choice. It should be located in the Wireless setup section of CenturyLink routers. Third-party brands might place it under Security or another similar area.

You can set the list of devices that are allowed to connect to your network via the menu by listing their MAC addresses.


Enable MAC Authentication

CenturyLink users have two options for changing router settings: one to fix the problem, and another to resolve it.

Option 1.

These models are available to you: C1100, C3000A, C3000Z, Or C4000.

Go to the Google Play Store or App Store and get the My CenturyLink App. Alternativly, you can visit CenturyLink and sign up with your CenturyLink credentials. Navigate to the devices list by using the menus. You’ll be able to pause or remove any device from there.

Option 2.

It’s available for all CenturyLink routers as well as any other third-party models.

Locate the default IP address, administrator username, password, and instructions manual.

On a device linked to that router, type the IP address into the address bar of a web browser.

Use your username and password to log in.

If your router is a CenturyLink, go to Wireless configuration, then MAC authentication, then enter the MAC addresses of all the devices you want to connect to your wireless network.

If you have a router from a third party, you can refer to the manual to find out what options you have. There will be more options for you to solve this problem than what CenturyLink provides.
