At Signeasy, we take great pride in developing mobile products that are of the highest possible quality. Every day, our customers show their appreciation by giving our app a rating of 4.8 stars on the App Store, where there are over 42,000 reviews. And it’s not just them – over the years, we’ve also had the good fortune to receive an incredible amount of love from Apple. We were featured in the iPad commercial that aired in 2015 and the Touch ID commercial that aired in 2016. Additionally, our app comes pre-installed on demo devices sold in Apple stores all over the world and has been highlighted on the App Store on multiple occasions over the course of its existence. We are genuinely moved to humility.
The App Store underwent a makeover in September of 2017, coinciding with the release of iOS 11 on Apple devices. Apple has introduced a completely new method of discovering apps by launching a tab called “Today,” which showcases an App of the Day, a Game of the Day, and a collection of curated apps and games in the form of a story. This is part of Apple’s introduction of a completely new style of app discovery. The goal was to make the App Store more interesting for users and to simplify the process by which they could locate and download new applications. And so it did! According to preliminary reports, a feature called “App of the Day” was increasing the number of downloads for apps by as much as 1,747 percent. Signeasy’s inclusion in the article was something we couldn’t wait to see, as it would allow us to witness the impact firsthand.
We did not need to wait very long at all! Signeasy was selected as the App of the Day in the United Kingdom on May 21. When we woke up that morning, we saw the announcement. And not long after that, on June 18th, we were picked up once more, but this time from all over the world! That’s right, we ran a feature all over the world, and the results blew away our expectations! The most significant impact was observed, as might be expected, on the very first day of the new feature, and it gradually decreased as we moved through the week. The coveted feature, on the other hand, will be permanently linked to your app’s listing in the country once it has been added. Here is a more in-depth look at the impact that the feature has across different metrics.
The first part of the feature was published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The second worldwide feature was broadcast in 145 countries around the world, including Mexico and Canada, as well as all of South America, Africa, Oceania, and the majority of Europe and Asia.

On D1, the number of downloads increased by a factor of almost 27. Although the impact was less severe by the end of the week, the daily numbers were still quite a bit higher than they are typically. The staggering net weekly overall increase was a total of 774 percent in all cases.

Rankings The addition of this feature had an unforeseen influence on the app’s overall ranking. We broke through the top 10 apps in the Business category in almost all of the countries that were featured in this article, and in some of those countries we even reached number one. This was made possible by the increased number of downloads that we received.

Our ranking improved across all categories thanks to the traction, and as a result, we were able to crack the Top 100 Apps list in almost all regions of the world!
The significant impact at the top of the funnel trickled down through all of the metrics, and as a result, we saw a significant increase in usage as well as paid user conversion, with an almost 44 percent increase in purchases on the very first day the feature was available. On the first day alone, the number of document transactions went up by 15% compared to the previous day.
The App of the Day feature has been a tremendous success for us overall, drawing in almost 100,000 new users over the course of the feature’s first week of operation. The ripple effect of this traction is still being felt to this very day, and as a result of this new user base, we are witnessing a continuous improvement across all of our metrics.
