1. Be Patient

If you’re connecting your Sky Q Mini box for the first time, you’ll probably have to wait a little longer for the setup procedure to complete. It can take up to ten minutes for a Sky box to connect to the internet.

2. Connect the Sky Q Mini Box via WPS to the Internet

Wi-Fi Protection Setup is abbreviated as WPS. It’s a Sky feature that lets you connect your router to wifi devices without having to enter a password. It’s a terrific alternative for emergency scenarios and will allow you to check if your box is operational.

If you’re having trouble connecting your Sky Q Mini box for the first time, consider using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). The loss of connectivity is only temporary, and you’ll most likely regain it fast. There are, however, ways to expedite the process if you’re in a hurry.

First, take your remote control. Press the “OK” button.Select. Step 2 will initiate WPS on the Skybox. You’ll then see a message on your screen asking you to go to the nearest Sky Q device and hold the WPS button for 3 seconds. When the light turns amber, you can release the button. Next, wait for the WPS process finish to complete at the Sky Mini. Your Sky Q Mini should now be functioning properly.

4. Improvement of the Internet Connection

It’s possible that your box isn’t to blame here. Your Sky Q Mini may freeze due to poor internet connectivity. You can strengthen your connection by doing a few things. Rebooting your router is the first thing you should do. By disconnecting the router from the power supply, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in, you can restart it. Before determining whether your problem has been resolved, give your router some time to establish a connection with your Sky Q Mini box.

You can also boost the speed of your internet connection by bringing your router closer to your box. Make sure there are no bulky things in the way of your router and the box. Furthermore, for the best connection, your router should never be on the floor.

5. Reset the Sky Q Mini’s Settings

You might be having problems with some of the features that you have set up. It might be a smart idea to reset your Sky Q Mini settings back to their default. To do this, go to the Main Menu of the Sky Mini and find the Settings option. You can also press 0, 0, 1, without actually clicking Settings. You will see the box go into reset mode. It is important to double-check that both are using the same settings. You’ll do that by pressing the HomeYou can then click on Setup and select Settings. Next, click on Setup. Select Preferences. After that, you’ll have the option to click on the Standby mode to see the settings of both boxes.

Thus, if you aren’t paying for one of these, you likely won’t be able to use your Sky Q Mini the way you want to. You can only upgrade your subscription plan. Logging into your account is the easiest way to do this. Next, click on the Update Sky Q subscription option.

9. Choose a lower resolution

Higher resolutions may be too high for your connection. That is why it’s helpful to switch to a lower one every time your box freezes. Alternativly, you could switch between 1080p/1080i when the box stops working. This will help to determine if the issue is solved. The Settings menu will allow you to adjust the resolution.
